Numerology Glossary

Bilingual reference for every term used across the site — from Moolank and Bhagyank to Chaldean, Lo Shu, Muhurat and Karmic Debt.

Moolank (Psychic Number)Reduced day of birth (1-9). Your inner self.#

The single digit obtained by reducing your date of birth (e.g. 28 → 2+8=10 → 1). It represents how you see yourself, your instincts and your strongest recurring energy through life. Its influence is felt most strongly between ages 35 and 42.

Kid-friendly example

Suppose Riya was born on the 28th. Take only the DAY → 28. Add the digits like Lego blocks: 2 + 8 = 10. Still two digits? Add again: 1 + 0 = 1. So Riya's Moolank is 1 — a natural leader.

Bhagyank (Destiny / Life Path)Reduced sum of full DOB. Your outer road.#

Sum of every digit in your full date of birth reduced to 1-9 (Master numbers 11, 22, 33 are preserved). It describes the road life keeps setting in front of you — career, dharma and long-term direction. Feels strongest after age 35.

Kid-friendly example

DOB 28-08-2001. Add EVERY digit: 2+8+0+8+2+0+0+1 = 21. Still two digits: 2+1 = 3. So Bhagyank = 3 — a creative, expressive road. (If the total ever lands on 11, 22 or 33, stop there — those are Master Numbers.)

Namank (Expression Number)Chaldean total of your full name.#

Every letter of your name is mapped to a Chaldean value (1-8; 9 is sacred and never assigned to a letter), summed and reduced. This is how the world experiences your identity — the vibration your name broadcasts in speech and writing.

Kid-friendly example

Name 'RIYA'. Chaldean values: R=2, I=1, Y=1, A=1. Sum = 2+1+1+1 = 5. Single digit already, so Namank = 5 — a lively, communicative vibration.

Heart's Desire (Soul Urge)Vowels-only total of your name.#

Add only the vowels of your name (A, E, I, O, U — Y when it functions as a vowel). Reveals what your soul silently wants — often different from what your Destiny asks of you.

Kid-friendly example

In 'RIYA' pick only the vowels: I, A (Y here acts as a consonant glide). Chaldean: I=1, A=1. Sum = 2. Heart's Desire = 2 — the soul secretly wants peace and partnership.

Personality NumberConsonants-only total of your name.#

Sum of consonant values only. Represents the version of you people meet first — your outer mask and first-impression energy.

Kid-friendly example

In 'RIYA' the consonants are R and Y. Chaldean: R=2, Y=1. Sum = 3. Personality = 3 — people first see Riya as bubbly and expressive.

Master Numbers (11, 22, 33)High-voltage numbers. Do not reduce them.#

11 (Illumined Intuitive), 22 (Master Builder) and 33 (Master Teacher) carry a stronger charge than ordinary numbers. When one appears in the final result of a core calculation, keep it un-reduced — the person is meant to grow into that higher potential.

Kid-friendly example

DOB 29-02-2000 → 2+9+0+2+2+0+0+0 = 15… wait, try 29-08-1992 → 2+9+0+8+1+9+9+2 = 40 → 4+0 = 4. Now try 29-11-1980 → 2+9+1+1+1+9+8+0 = 31 → 3+1 = 4. For a Master example: DOB 29-08-1975 → 2+9+0+8+1+9+7+5 = 41 → 4+1 = 5. A true 11 shows up like DOB 29-12-1986 → 2+9+1+2+1+9+8+6 = 38 → 3+8 = 11. STOP — don't reduce further. Bhagyank = 11 (Master).

Karmic Debt Numbers (13, 14, 16, 19)Intermediate totals that flag past-life lessons.#

If a core number's intermediate sum lands on 13, 14, 16 or 19 before final reduction, it carries a specific karmic lesson (hard work → 13, discipline → 14, ego humility → 16, independence → 19). It is not a curse — it is a curriculum.

Kid-friendly example

DOB 07-06-2000 → 7+6+2+0+0+0 = 15… try 04-09-2000 → 4+9+2+0+0+0 = 15. For a debt example: 09-04-2000 → 9+4+2+0+0+0 = 15 → still not. Try 04-05-2003 → 4+5+2+0+0+3 = 14 → 1+4 = 5. Notice the middle step landed on 14 before becoming 5 — that's a Karmic Debt of 14 hiding inside a Life Path 5. Lesson: build discipline and freedom together.

Lo Shu GridChinese 3×3 magic square used in numerology.#

A 3×3 grid where every row, column and diagonal sums to 15. Placing the digits of your DOB inside it shows which qualities you have in abundance and which are missing — the basis of remedies.

Kid-friendly example

DOB 28-08-2001 gives the digits {2,8,0,8,2,0,0,1}. Ignore zeros. Drop each digit into its fixed cell (4|9|2 / 3|5|7 / 8|1|6). Riya's grid shows 1 once, 2 twice, 8 twice — 5 and 9 are empty. Missing 5 = need for stability; missing 9 = need to build wisdom.

Active Planes & Arrows of PythagorasComplete rows / cols / diagonals in your grid.#

When all three cells of a Lo Shu line are filled, an 'arrow' is formed (e.g. arrow of will, arrow of intellect). Missing lines create 'gaps' the person is meant to consciously build.

Kid-friendly example

If your grid has 3, 5 and 7 all present, the middle row is complete → 'Arrow of Willpower'. If 4, 5 and 6 are all missing, that's an 'Arrow of Emotional Balance' gap — remedy is meditation and family time.

Chaldean vs PythagoreanTwo letter-to-number systems.#

Chaldean (Babylonian) assigns letters based on sound vibration and uses 1-8 only (9 is sacred). Pythagorean assigns sequentially A=1, B=2 … up to 9 and repeats. Chaldean is preferred for name analysis in Vedic numerology; Pythagorean is common in Western practice.

Kid-friendly example

Take 'SUMIT'. Chaldean → S=3, U=6, M=4, I=1, T=4 → 3+6+4+1+4 = 18 → 1+8 = 9. Pythagorean → S=1, U=3, M=4, I=9, T=2 → 1+3+4+9+2 = 19 → 1+9 = 10 → 1. Same name, two different answers — that's why the system you pick matters.

Personal Year / Month / DayYour personal cycles of energy.#

Personal Year = reduce(birth day + birth month + current year). Personal Month adds current month. Personal Day adds today's date. Together they map the mood of your today, this month and this year.

Kid-friendly example

Born 28-08. Today is 16-07-2026. Personal Year: 2+8 + 0+8 + 2+0+2+6 = 28 → 2+8 = 10 → 1 (a year of new beginnings). Personal Month adds 0+7 → 1+7 = 8. Personal Day adds 1+6 → 8+7 = 15 → 1+5 = 6 (a caring, family day).

Pinnacle CyclesFour long life-phases of opportunity.#

Life is divided into four pinnacles calculated from birth month/day/year. Each brings a specific theme — first ~36 years, then 9-year cycles. Knowing your current pinnacle helps you use the season wisely.

Kid-friendly example

DOB 28-08-2001 → reduced Day=1, Month=8, Year=3. First Pinnacle = Day+Month = 1+8 = 9 (service). Second = Day+Year = 1+3 = 4 (build stability). Third = 1st+2nd = 9+4 = 13 → 4. Fourth = Month+Year = 8+3 = 11 (Master, spiritual leadership).

Anti-Growth PairsDigit pairs that clash (e.g. 4-8, 1-8).#

Certain adjacent digits in a mobile / bank / vehicle number create friction because their planets are enemies — 4 (Rahu) with 8 (Saturn) creates chaos, 1 (Sun) with 8 (Saturn) blocks recognition. Avoid these adjacent in mission-critical numbers.

Kid-friendly example

Mobile 98•••48•••10. Scan neighbours: 4-8 sits together → chaos pair. Also 1-0 next to 8 subtly reads as 1-8. Swap the number so no 4 touches an 8 and no 1 touches an 8. A clean example: 98765 32210 — no clashing neighbours.

Muhurat (Auspicious Timing)Choosing a date whose vibration supports the task.#

Every task has an ideal Personal Day and Universal Day number. Signing a contract on an 8/8 day, launching a brand on a 5 day, marriage on a 6 day — matching vibrations makes work flow easier.

Kid-friendly example

Riya wants to launch her boutique. Best Universal Day for launches = 5. On 14-08-2026 → 1+4+0+8+2+0+2+6 = 23 → 2+3 = 5. If her Personal Day that same date is also a 5 or 3, that's a green-light Muhurat.
